Some of life’s most meaningful moments happen in places we never imagined we would be—hospital rooms, hospice suites, and quiet spaces surrounded by the people we love. Remembrance & Hospice Photography is a compassionate, on-location portrait service created for individuals and families navigating the final chapter of a loved one’s life. I come to you, meeting you where you are, to quietly document the connections, tenderness, and love that exist in these deeply personal moments. These photographs are not about illness. They are about the person, the relationships, and the love that remains.
A gentle presence during a tender time.
When a family is facing the end of a life, there may be little time or energy for anything beyond simply being together. My role is to make the photographic experience as unobtrusive and gentle as possible. Though I may guide you with gentle posing, there is no expectation to create a picture-perfect moment. Instead, I look for the natural expressions of love that happen when families gather—holding hands, sharing a quiet smile, resting together, embracing, telling stories, or simply being present with one another. I work respectfully within the environment and alongside medical and hospice professionals, always prioritizing the comfort, dignity, and needs of the patient and family.
The moments you may not know to photograph.
Sometimes it is the way a hand is held. The familiar smile of someone you have loved for decades. A child curled beside a parent. A spouse resting quietly at the bedside. A room filled with family. A final embrace. These seemingly simple moments can become extraordinarily meaningful with time. Photography gives families something tangible to hold onto—a visual record of connection during a season that can otherwise feel difficult to remember clearly.
Honoring the whole person.
A person is never defined by a diagnosis or the circumstances surrounding their final days. Remembrance photography is an opportunity to see and preserve the person beyond the medical setting: their expressions, their relationships, their personality, and the love they have given and received throughout their life. Whenever possible, I invite families to incorporate meaningful personal elements into the session—favorite clothing, photographs, flowers, music, meaningful objects, or other details that help tell the story of the person they love.
A legacy of love.
There may come a day when memories become harder to hold onto. Photographs can help carry them. Not simply as a record of what happened, but as a reminder of who was there, how deeply you loved one another, and the connection that existed in those moments. These images are created to become part of your family's story—quiet heirlooms of love, presence, and remembrance that can be held close for years to come.
